BRITISH INVENTION SHOW 2014

This really does not need much introduction. It took place in October/November 2014 at the Barbican halls in the City of London.  Suffice to say that Bahrain played a pivotal role in the event.  HRH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa was a patron and indeed a provider of much needed funds for the event.  The King of Bahrain;  HRH King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa gifted a solid gold cup which was presented to the most ingenious inventor(s) one could say.  This cup will be presented for many years to come to the the best invention.  Obviously, the show had such a Bahrain element to it, this one hour TV presentation for Bahrain Television featured heavily on HRH SHaikh Nasser. As far as we know, nobody else documented the show in such detail.  We witnessed Sky News there doing a short report, but didn’t see much else. This programme was fairly representative of the entire thing.

As a footnote and sadly not represented in the programme (air time restraints), the gala presentation dinner at the Savoy on the third day was class in itself.  A mini orchestra played for the early part of the evening and one has to say they were superb.  Later, to waltz the night away (and boy they did), so many agreed, the tribute band to Dire Straits which played were as good as the real thing.  Phenomenal band indeed.  Not sure of the name, but maybe “THE STRAIGHTS”.  Nothing bent about that then.
