Manama, Bahrain – Within the framework of the strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Tunisia, and in affirmation of the shared commitment to developing and enhancing trade and economic relations between the two countries, the Bahrain Businessmen’s Association (BBA) signed a cooperation agreement with the Tunisian Confederation of Citizen Enterprises (CONECT). The agreement aims to support economic partnership and open new horizons for trade and investment exchange.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Bahrain Businessmen’s Association by Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Bin Hindi, Chairman of the Board, while Mr. Fouad Gdich, National Executive Bureau Member, represented the Tunisian Confederation of Citizen Enterprises.
The agreement stipulates the establishment of a Bahraini–Tunisian Business Council, which will convene on a regular annual basis, with hosting duties rotating between the two countries. This initiative will enhance institutional communication between business communities and support the development of sustainable economic partnerships.
In this context, Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Bin Hindi stated that the signing of the agreement reflects the Bahrain Businessmen’s Association’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with the Republic of Tunisia. He noted that the Business Council will serve as an effective platform to expand areas of collaboration, open new markets for the private sector, and support joint investment initiatives.
For his part, Mr. Fouad Gdich emphasized that the agreement represents a strategic step toward deepening economic relations between the two countries, affirming that the Business Council will facilitate direct engagement between business leaders, promote the exchange of expertise, and explore partnership and investment opportunities in a manner that serves mutual interests.
The agreement also aims to increase bilateral trade volume, broaden economic cooperation, organize business delegations, exchange economic data and publications, and encourage participation in international exhibitions held in both countries.
Both parties further confirmed that the agreement includes strengthening the exchange of experiences and best practices, as well as implementing training and capacity-building programs to develop human capital and institutional capabilities, in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Tunisia.
The signing of this agreement comes as part of joint efforts to support the role of the private sector in both countries and to enhance bilateral economic cooperation, contributing to sustainable development and serving shared interests.
