H.M. Queen Elizabeth II Birthday Celebration in Bahrain

queens_birthday_00001Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was born April 21st 1926.  The date here is April 29th and Who Does What  TV, were party to Bahrain’s official birthday celebration of H.M. at the British Embassy in Bahrain, which of course is an annual event many look forward to, despite rarely if ever being held on the actual date of birth. The Queen also has an official birthday in Britain on ‘a Saturday in June’, which coincides with the Trooping of the Colour.  Around the commonwealth, the celebration occurs on various – hopefully sunny days.

In Bahrain, His Excellency Iain Lyndsay OBE with his wife Bridget truly embraced the occasion by hosting a grand garden party having invited much of the British community along with VIP s and other Ambassadors.  These very special VIP guests were not only celebrating  the Queen’s Birthday but also Bahrain’s 200 years of very tight and close relations with the United Kingdom.

His Royal Highness King Hamad bin Isa Al khalifa’s deputised his  personal representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa for this event. Other VIPs included – Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, HE Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa  along with the Prime Minister His royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa ‘s grandsons – Shaikh Khalifa bin Rashid, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa.

Sponsors included; The Diplomat Radisson Blue Hotel, Residence and Spa, who provided an extensive buffet with traditional fish and chips among the fare – and BMMI who provided the Pimms
