The Indian Ladies Association (ILA) marked its prestigious 70th anniversary celebrations with the “Nightingales of Bahrain – Service Award 2026”, an event honoring 70 nurses in Bahrain who have completed more than 25 years of dedicated service in the nursing profession.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday, 3rd June 2026, at King Hamad American Mission Hospital in A’Ali, bringing together healthcare professionals, community members, distinguished guests, and nursing leaders to recognize the contribution of long-serving nurses to Bahrain’s healthcare sector.

Honoring 70 Veteran Nurses in Bahrain

The event was organized to celebrate and acknowledge the dedication, compassion, and commitment of nurses whose work has played a significant role in supporting healthcare services in the Kingdom over several decades.

Seham Ahmed Bubshait Shares Her Nursing Journey

One of the notable moments of the evening was the story shared by Ms. Seham Ahmed Bubshait, a distinguished Bahraini nursing leader with more than four decades of experience in healthcare. During the event, Ms. Bubshait reflected on her professional journey, leadership experience, and the evolution of the nursing profession in Bahrain. Her story was also documented on video during the ceremony.

Nightingales of Bahrain Celebrates Healthcare Dedication

Ms. Bubshait began her career at Salmaniya Medical Complex and progressed from staff nurse to senior leadership positions including Chief Nursing Officer and Principal Nursing Officer in primary healthcare. She also held important positions at Joslin Diabetic Center and Al Kindi Specialized Hospital, in addition to administrative and external relations roles in the private sector.

Currently serving as President of the Bahrain Nursing and Midwifery Society (BNMS), she is recognized as one of the founders of the Bahrain Nursing Society and has contributed extensively to the advancement of nursing and midwifery in Bahrain.

Throughout her career, she has participated in national committees related to nursing licensure, breastfeeding, vaccination, adolescent health, and healthcare regulation, while also representing Bahrain in regional and international conferences and professional initiatives.

Ms. Bubshait has received several awards and recognitions, including being named among the “Ideal Nurses in Bahrain” and being honored for more than 30 years of distinguished service to healthcare.

Indian Ladies Association Marks 70 Years of Community Service

The “Nightingales of Bahrain – Service Award 2026” formed part of the Indian Ladies Association’s wider efforts to recognize individuals who have made lasting contributions to Bahraini society and community development.
