The Bahrain Arts Society has been active since 1983 and enjoys considerable patronage. ‘Views‘ art exhibition is a collective look at not only local artists but artists from around the region and beyond. The exhibition is extensive with participating galleries. In fact
several international artists are represented as well, in a sort of partnership. Damien Hirst – Mark Quinn – Lido Rico – Sebastian Bieniek – Sookoon Ang – Yousef Ahmad and Yasmin Sharabi who are exhibited under the banner of Art Bahrain. Other galleries include; Al Riwaq Art Space and Albareh which have many artists displaying their works. Obviously with such an extensive display, coordination would have been complex and surely needed the Bahrain Art Society as a body to organize it. It goes without saying that His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa carries considerable influence, being a reputed artist and patron himself.
So there it is; Views, which is housed in a large tent in the grounds of the Ritz Carlton and a perfect setting to say the least. Will it remain there? See/hear what Shaikh Rashid has to say.
