INDONESIAN NATIONAL DAY (71st) – BAHRAIN

www.whodoeswhat.tv deliberately left this one long, you’ll see why if you play the video.  Another proud National Day or Republic Day if you prefer, this time for Indonesia.  Ambassador to Bahrain H.E. Chilman Arisman made sure www.whodoeswhat.tv was there and very nice chap he is, but we have a sneaky feeling there was an alterior motive, that being:

he was going to ‘sing’ at the event.  If you read any profile about H.E. Chilman, it more often that not states that he likes ‘singing’ (he and his close friend the Malaysian Ambassador H.E. Ahmad Shahizan who gets into the karaoke big time). Being as nice as possible, because they are really good guys, but from the ADmaze Media team which has written and produced/recorded many a top advertising jingle and even full blown international songs, our advice is to um…. er…. keep practicing and don’t give up your day jobs.

You can see from the video that some very traditional Indonesian bamboo instruments are used to great effect.  The rest of the evening was casual, friendly and good food. That was it, the Indonesian National Day, with dignitaries, other Ambassadors and invited guests. Nice one!

One more item, away from all the normal political thanks and jargon that is a must at these functions, H.E. Chilman went out of his way  to thank The Bahrain Police Band who are really exceptional. Quite often these boys go about their business at many a function with little mention, but they are extremely popular and no doubt taken for granted.
