Indonesia Republic day is 17th August. This is the usual gathering of diplomats and friends of Indonesia (in this case) you might say. Yes. But…………..
wait until the end with the traditional dancing. There is a section where your whole body will shudder. How do they do that? We even asked the new Ambassador H.E. Nur Syahrir Rahardjo but he didn’t know either saying; ‘This is the first time I have seen this’. Surely we all wondered why a pile of broken cups and saucers were in the middle of the stage, never for one minute thinking that a dancer would jump up and down on it with bare feet, like a deranged being, but watch and see. No blood!
We’ve also left the Bahrain Police Band in as they play the National Anthem. We see them a lot, but few actually feature them. They are excellent and deserve as much recognition as possible.
Nur Syahrir Rahardjo had only been in Bahrain a couple of months at the time of this shoot. Having had excellent relations with the former Ambassador, Whodoeswhat.tv were eager to get acquainted. The man has a good soul, very friendly, forthcoming and a happy chappy. Hopefully, we will see more Indonesian activity in the coming year.
