June 2025 | Bahrain

In honor of the 127th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, the Philippine Embassy in Bahrain has launched a vibrant month-long tribute featuring art, music, and culture, inviting all nationalities to celebrate the Philippines’ rich heritage.

The festivities kicked off with the grand opening of Pinoy Week at Lulu Hypermarket Juffair on June 9, highlighted by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting and tour of Filipino produce options. These moments were graced by Her Excellency Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis, who led the event in recognition of Filipino–Bahraini friendship.

Art lovers are in for a treat with the opening of “UNBOUND: 127 Years of Freedom” on June 14 at the Bahrain Financial Harbour – Harbour Gate, 2nd Floor. The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis and displays compelling pieces reflecting the Filipino journey toward independence.

Music takes center stage next. On June 17, the acclaimed Lakbai Guitar Duo will perform a captivating set of Filipino melodies at Lulu Hypermarket Juffair starting at 7:00 PM. A second concert at the Cultural Hall will follow on June 20 from 4:00–6:00 PM, delivering an immersive musical experience.

While the Embassy’s National Day Reception will be an invitation-only evening with dignitaries and invited guests, all are welcome to join in the public events that surround it.

The celebrations conclude with “Himig ng Kalayaan (Melodies of Freedom)”, a cultural festival launching at Oasis Mall Juffair on June 26 at 4:00 PM. Expect a lively showcase of Filipino arts, dances, music, crafts, and cuisine, celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of Philippine culture.

Each event—graced by Ambassador Anne Jalando-on Louis—fosters unity, cultural pride, and cross-cultural engagement. The Embassy warmly invites all Bahrain residents to participate in this celebration of freedom, friendship, and heritage.
